The "Noose" versus the "Comfort Strap" lieIs the Strap Better? One of the most common questions appearing with extenders now is which head securing method is best? You've probably seen the standard "silicone band" extenders and are now seeing more and more "strap" based products. We purchased a strap and have our opinion of it below. Analyzing the Strap. We purchased a strap from the "X4 Extender" company. It claims that the head piece and the strap were compatible with all of the silicone band based extenders on the market. We happen to own all of them so we were able to test on them all. The first impression I got when I put the device on was that it has more surface area to irritate the penis. The plastic was actually a lot harder than I had expected it to be as well. I had to wrap the strap with toilet paper because after about 15 minutes of use the strap was starting to really hurt. There are some significant differences between the two systems: 1. The biggest flaw is that the band is ONLY able to adjust in increments. If you look at the sides where the strap "clips" into the head piece, there are only 4 tabs on the side. Meaning if you have a thick penis it may not hold. Or if you have a very thin one the chances of slipping INCREASES with this type of band. 2. The strap covers more surface on the penis, and actually causes a different kind of stretch. It causes the middle of the penis to stretch more than the base (as with the silicone band). I dislike the kind of stretch the strap gives, I don't think it is proportioned properly. The silicone band is used to simply hold the head from slipping to apply the traction. The strap causes too much of a tug on the midsection. 3. The strap hurts the very tip of the glans. Because there is no "rounding" on the side of the strap it pinches up against the head and causes an intense discomfort. The biggest problem is: They BREAK easily! I managed to break 2 of the straps in the first 4 hours of wear time. I don't know if it is the plastic quality or what but I was very frustrated. It broke right in half. Bottom LineThe strap comes off as a great alternative to the silicone band, however it is simply a marketing ploy. The company that is selling this product is probably making a ton of cash luring in customers. The strap is not an upgrade, it is a downgrade. |
